Undine Hugow – Associate

South Africa born, Undine is a well-rounded architect, having acquired wide-ranging skills, working with many varied building types. She joined Barbara Weiss Architects in February 2015, bringing twenty-seven years’ practical experience to the practice, having worked with a number of notable architectural practices in the UK, including the influential theoretician, Cedric Price.

As Associate Director at Aukett, and more recently as Associate at Scott Brownrigg, Undine was responsible for the running, co-ordination and delivery of a number of large, varied and sometimes complex projects - from early concept stages (feasibility studies and design concepts) to completion on site.

In recent years, Undine has been drawn to the complexities and challenges arising within occupier-led hotel projects. Designing and procuring a number of large hotel projects both in the UK and abroad has not only given her considerable recognition within the sector, but the experience gained has also enabled her to develop a coherent strategic approach that is of value in the design of other, similar, building types, such as student accommodation and residential buildings.
