Sevenoaks Nature & Wellbeing Centre

December 2017

Barbara Weiss Architects have teamed up with Price & Myers and sustainability and building performance expert Doug King to submit an entry for the RIBA Sevenoaks Nature and Wellbeing Centre competition.

Hugging the site topography, the new visitor centre is a compact two-storey building topped by a low-lying observation tower, which draws its inspiration from the great tradition of historic Martello towers. This 360-degree look-out will provide views of all five lakes in a less formal location then the hides where the need to observe stringent bird-watching etiquette is essential, making the enrichment of nature watching accessible to all.
